Remarkable adhesion reduction
The above example of cutting process automation in the food industry allows for flexible planning of product cutting locations (while ensuring product quality is always maintained after cutting). Ultrasound assists in it while minimising the adhesion effect that is typically observed with conventional knives. The process cycle involves the cleaning of the cutting sonotrode using ultrasound. This ensures that product residues are effectively repelled from the cutting tool surface.
